Lang's Mission Trip to Africa

Very Proud of my main squeeze. This is his Open Letter (both on Facebook and GoFundMe) about his upcoming missions trip to Kisumu, Kenya - Africa (August 2019). My family has gotten involved - the kids will be fundraising, I am helping post on Social Media, of course. and my cousin, Jen Sickler, from Ariginal Art Studio is a very talented jeweler. She has created and donated 50 cross necklaces to help with the fundraising.

Ariginal Art Studio made these crosses out of recycled flatware.

"I am Lang. I am joining those answering God’s call to spread the good news all over the world – the orders of our faithful and worthy King, Jesus Christ. I have felt His call to go far from my family and home to Kisumu, Kenya, in Africa to preach the good news of Jesus there. I join those others who say, “send me!” This was the one command He gave to His people before he left to return to the Father – the Great Commission. Those in need of Him are all around, and the forces holding them hostage will not willingly release them. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but the powers of darkness in this fallen world. I am called to serve and show God’s love – to join with the others of his Body and be His hands and feet, to free the prisoners, to heal the sick, to feed the hungry, to recover the lost – so that hope may be brought to call on the name of the Lord! I am humbled to accept this call…my wife heard it for me before I did, I confess I was reluctant and resistant at first. Now that I have been called, please help me go and do, to further God’s Kingdom and serve his children. Our mission to reach those in need, needs your support – you are called too. Please pray for our travels to return home to the family here that also needs me and for the power of the Holy Spirit for strength to overcome obstacles. Please consider helping to fund our mission. I am a devoted father to two foster-adopted boys and this summer I am His missionary. My two-week trip starts on July 31, 2019 and we’re heading for Kisumu, Kenya, to minister to street children, orphans and their kin, and help run an old-fashioned revival. We’ll also be working with the community to offer a two-day, free medical camp. SUCH amazing work – I am honored to be one of the six called to go on this trip. The cost of each missionary is $3,000. My “Why” * I want to experience being His feet - I want to spread hope to the hopeless. * I wish to come alongside other dads, sharing my testimony of how I found hope in Jesus, how He pointed me to my wife, how He called me to adopt my sons, how He directed my career, and how He continues to breathe life into my marriage, my home, and my career. * I want to be a model servant for my boys growing up in a grounded, spiritual home that serves. * I want to drink Kenyan coffee, in Kenya. Harvest Land Ministries, International currently provides the ministry in Kisumu. They minister to the physical needs of the very needy in Kisumu, by sharing the Good News of salvation in Jesus to their surrounding communities. We’ll be engaging with people who've never had ANYthing, people who aren't surrounded by organizations rushing to provide aid. We're hoping to finish paying for the land surrounding the Kisuma HLMI Church that was built, recently, with the desire to build a desperately-needed school (there is no public education in Kenya) and a medical clinic. While in Kisuma, we’ll be • Ministering to street children physically, emotionally, and spiritually • Ministering to orphans and the families helping to raise them, providing various supplies and assistance • Help run an outdoor crusade, similar to old-fashioned revivals • Help with seminars at the Kisuma HLMI Church • Work with the team to minister to the community through a two-day, free medical camp FINANCIAL: The $3,000 will cover travel, lodging, transportation in Kenya, meals, and ministry expenses. All funds donated will go directly to the mission trip. PRAYERS: Thank you for praying for safe travels and hope and medicine to be delivered to all that will receive."
