Introducing new employee Frank Dorton


ABC Consulting has been in business for over 10 years. They bridge the gap between brides, event planners and small businesses that need a license to serve alcohol and the VA ABC. They smooth the paper trail and make sure that the entire paper trail is traceable and has all the right pieces and parts. They speed up the process and get you stamped "APPROVED!" This month, they have hired another winning employee to their already stellar team: Frank Dorton.

Born and raised in Scott County, Virginia, Mr. Dorton relocated to Buchanan County, Virginia in 1977, accepted a position with the Town of Grundy Police Department. He worked there for 3 years and then began his career with Richland's Police Department, as a Patrolman. He accepted a promotion to the Investigation Division as a Criminal Investigator in 1987. In 1993, along with regular duties as an Investigator, he became a member of the newly-formed Tazewell County Task Force as a Narcotic Investigator, working with many narcotics cases, to include several undercover narcotic purchases. Mr. Dorton accepted a promotion to Lieutenant of the Investigations Division of the Richland's Police Department in 1998, holding that position until 2010. At that time, he transferred back to the Patrol Division in order to begin a part-time position with Cumberland Security as a Private Investigator. July 2011 consisted of his appointment to Chief of Police for the Richland's Police Department until retiring in July 2018 with a total of 41 years of service in Law Enforcement.

Mr. Dorton’s extensive experience in Law Enforcement is a welcome addition as the newest member of the ABC Consulting team. When you hire ABC Consulting, you are getting an entire team of experts and specialists. Frank assists Virginia businesses through the arduous tasks of licensing, obtaining attorneys and getting Alcoholic Beverage Control training to employees to get and stay compliant. He’ll review all the documents needed for Virginia ABC approval, before presenting the package to Virginia ABC. He’ll find and correct any issues before submitting and that results in a quicker license approval.
