Meet Four Finger Frenzy-Wesley Stevenson

Social Media Simplifier is very excited to onboard our first musician/music teacher - Wesley Stevenson of Williamsburg - he is best known for group classes with middle school and junior high school group classes in Ukulele. The classes are called Four Finger Frenzy - great play on words because of the four strings of the Ukulele. Having only four strings makes it easier to play - as opposed to a guitar with 5 or 6 strings - be mindful that this makes the cords different patterns for each instrument.. Of course Wesley is just an all-around-music teacher - not just Ukulele - he teaches guitar, Ukulele, rhythm and piano.

Currently, Four Finger Frenzy is making quite a name for themselves offering Group Classes at the local libraries - for FREE! Wesley brings his Ukuleles with him, hands the youngsters an instrument and then they start playing. They play that day - that first 5 minutes . I see this being hugely important - teaching children - letting them play not just hold an instrument while he teaches theory. In fact, he is just a great instructor: patient, kind and engaging. He keeps the class moving in a very fun and productive way. One week was light in attendance and my husband and I picked up a Ukulele in the middle school class and joined in. I am HOOKED. It was a great starter instrument - inexpensive and lovely to listen to (even in disharmony). And the kids really enjoyed the immediate success.

Group classes will be starting in the fall at his studio, on Saturdays for more-than-mildly interested. I would recommend signing up for this class, quickly, as he is becoming more and more popular. sign up for classes (group or private classes), here.
