Facebook as a marketing tool

Social media is an important marketing tool for any small business - and Social Media Simplifier specializes in Small, Local businesses in Williamsburg. We choose Facebook as your basic platform - and this social media platforms builds a network of fans, reviewers and customers. It also establishes your company's brand.

In real life you SMILE - in the social media world, you prove you’re fun, interesting, caring….and human. But unlike real life, all of your interactions with your fans are completely public. Everyone sees what you say, what others say to you, and how you respond to each other. Be careful - in other words. Be professional in how you deal with biting reviews or argumentative fans.

  • Be responsive (when people comment or question) and you’ll gain credibility and value.

  • When people engage with you by commenting, they expect a response or at least a LIKE.

  • The frequency of posts? SMSimplifier suggests a minimum of once a day. But, don’t talk for the sake of talking, you don’t have a quota to meet. As long as your account gets updated enough to keep your audience engaged and following along, you’re doing fine.

  • But don't STOP or get lazy - not responding or deserting your social media channel will reflect poorly on your business. Pre-populate posts to make sure you have some consistency.

  • Give multiple people Administrative Rights to the company's Facebook business page (and other social media accounts) to help update the page, keeping the content fresh. Each administrator must first have their own personal Facebook account.

  • Use hashtags in your posts – business hashtags or other hashtags that have been started that fit your need – or create one of your own!

  • Make sure your social media "handle," or name, is the same, or really close, across all channels and cross-promote your accounts. Use similar images across all channels, too.

  • Remind fans why they would want to follow you on more than one platform.

  • High quality images increase engagement! Use images with your posts - and make sure they are the best they can be by sizing them correctly before you post.

Want more "coaching?" SMSimplifier provides that, too. Let's talk!
