Need a new mechanic, in Richmond?

No doubt about it: the most expensive part of owning a car is the maintenance. If you don't keep up with oil changes and tire rotations and regular inspections of safety hazards, it will cost you even more. I have been working with a couple of automotive repair shops in Richmond, recently. I have learned a lot about marketing them, of course, but as a car owner myself, I am consistent with most car owners in my expectations.

Reading reviews and concerns, from various competition (we always research the competition, of course!!), one thing is for sure, you can see where people's passions lie when it comes to their cars. It isn't money, although obviously that is important - it is being treated respectfully and trusting the words said and the work done.

People want to trust the repair shop and organization that is working on their car and the mechanics working under the hood. They also want to be SURE that the price that they are paying is for work actually done. Most of us don't know how to change a headlamp or the oil or understand what the dashboard lights mean and when we take our car in to have someone else look at it? They better not be blowing smoke when they bring us the damage - we better NEED those repairs and PLEASE use language that we can understand. Lastly, respect our time - don't keep us waiting and if we do have to wait - be honest about it, up front. We won't be back, if you cannot respect us, our time, our intelligence and of course - our pocketbook!
