Welcome Williamsburg SCORE

I had occassion to meet SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) about 2 years ago. I did an interview for Rolf Kramer - Real Estate Agent, for his blog about volunteerism with purpose. Because of that interview, I got a foot in the door and ended up doing a presentation about Social Media for the lead team of Small Business Mentors -- and a relationship was forged.

I have, since, done two seminars for small businesses in Williamsburg, about implimenting Social Media. I do love speaking and teaching and motivating. Especially about what I do and what I love. It energizes me. For days after a seminar, I am jazzed up, while I slave behind the computer. I am so grateful for the opportunities and the relationships that I have created through SCORE. I am also grateful for business advice and just being able to bounce ideas off of someone who has been there. SCORE mentors think nothing about sitting down to hear about an issue I am having with my business or with a client - in fact, they WELCOME the opportunity to help. That is what the mentors do - help small businesses make smart decisions, lead them to decisions, brainstorm about issues and give them knowledge-based support through the lifecycle of a small-business or start up.

This year, my relationship with WIliamsburg SCORE has taken another step forward. I am putting a social media campaign together, for them. This is a very enjoyable account. The people I work for are fabulously intellegent and professional. And it is interesting trying to figure out how to reach more of ME (a small-business owner). SCORE's business goals are to support more people in seminars and support more people, through mentoring. My creative juices are flowing and I am loving it. If you are interested in FREE and confidential advice to your business problems, SCORE is a wonderful organization. Their next two seminars are listed, in Williamsburg, are listed below:

Saturday, Mar 19, 9-11am

Saturday, Apr 23, 9-11am

Saturday, May 21, 9-11am
